- Attend a Volunteer Info Session to work directly with survivors, children, or represent The SAFE Alliance in the community
- Volunteers must be 21 or older to work with specific programs
- All other SAFE volunteers must be 18 or older
- A commitment of approximately eight hours per month for at least six months after Core Advocate Training
- A completed Volunteer Application, including a criminal background check & pre-training interview
- 40-hour Core Advocate Training (View Sample Training Agenda)
- Any additional program-specific training (such as Legal Services, Peer Support or Children & Youth Training)
- Post-Training Interview with Volunteer Services staff and/or volunteer supervisor
It’s important to know there may be costs associated with volunteering. We have a training fee of $150 for volunteers attending our month long, 40-hour Core Advocate Training program.
