# DVAM – The Laurie Wright Stand Up Paddle Parade

The 6th Annual Lauri Wright Stand Up for Safe Families Paddle Parade is in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The Austin/Travis County Family Violence Task Force with continued support from the Texas Rowing Center will host this FUN, FREE, FAMILY-FRIENDLY event. Paddleboards, canoes and kayaks will be available free of charge during the event. All free rentals are on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive on time and enjoy the FUN! Feel free to bring your own water craft. If you would like to show support, but don’t want to get on the lake, come out and walk along the banks of Lady Bird Lake to cheer on the group in the lake as they make their way down toward the Lamar Street Bridge. Don’t forget to WEAR PURPLE in support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and show victims and survivors that we STAND with them!
